After the bubbly has run dry, the centerpieces have been swiped and the wedding festivities have come to an end, it's time to finally unwind and enjoy some needed rest and relaxation together as newlyweds! My best advice on honeymooning? Keep it simple. For our honeymoon, my husband and I rented a well-appointed, mid-century modern pad in Palm Springs where we hung by the pool, cycled around the colourful neighborhoods, and just generally got lazy; it was just what we needed after all of the work and excitement that comes with planning a wedding.
Recently we found ourselves in need of this same kind of break, just some quite downtime to enjoy each other's company, we found exactly that in the stunningly scenic state of Vermont. We came across Edson Hill, coined a Distinctive Country Inn amid the rolling hills, this recently renovated gem has a casual luxe vibe that was perfectly on point.
The lovely inn is set on 48 acres of pure country bliss and has recently been getting tons of attention for it's gorgeous interior design by one of New England's top design firms Gauthier Stacy, and it's ridiculously relaxing (but not boring) setting in Stowe, VT. Topping Conde Nast's 'Hottest Hotels of 2015' list, this place has quickly become legit.
The agenda is simple, lounge by the pool, sip fancy craft cocktails on the lawn, stroll the property and visit the horses, play a vintage board game or two (in the lounge that will have you trying to figure out how you can recreate the same look in your own living room), or snuggle in front of your private fireplace before bed, and repeat! This place tops my list for best honeymoon hangouts if you're in the mood for something romantic, relaxing and decidedly chic.
Check out some of the snaps I took while we were there...
